Christmas is coming a little early this year! On November 6, I’m releasing two new holiday singles, “The Christmas Waltz” and “Let It Snow,” and I can’t wait for you to hear both of these tunes.
Over the summer, I flew to Detroit to record these songs with the help of my friend and voice teacher, Olivia Van Goor, who produced the project. We had a fantastic group of musicians in the studio, including Mike Harrison on piano, Matt Ryan on bass, and Dave Zwolinski on drums. Matt also mixed and mastered both tracks for me.

The Christmas Waltz
“The Christmas Waltz” has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs. In fact, it was the song I walked down the aisle to when Greg and I got married in December 2013.
Written by Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne, the song was originally recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1954. I’ve always loved its beautiful melody and the warmth of the lyrics. It captures so much of what I love about Christmas, and I’ve wanted to record my own version for a long time.
Let It Snow (featuring Olivia Van Goor)
My second single is a duet with Olivia, and this one is a little more playful!
Olivia and I had been brainstorming ideas for something we could record together, and we kept coming back to “Let It Snow.” We both love the tune, but we wanted to put our own spin on it.
Olivia had the idea to write some vocalese for the song, and she came up with something really fun. If you’re unfamiliar with vocalese, it’s a jazz technique where new lyrics are written to an instrumental melody or improvised solo.
Her lyrics poke fun at the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. There are endless to-do lists, presents to wrap, and the occasional desire to just stay in bed and ignore all of it.
It’s a fun, tongue-in-cheek take on a Christmas classic, and I loved getting to record it with Olivia. She’s a wonderful musician and a dear friend, and I’m grateful we got to make something together.
Coming November 6
Both songs will be available on all major streaming platforms on Friday, November 6!
I hope these two songs find a place in your holiday playlists, whether you’re enjoying a quiet evening by the Christmas tree or trying to survive the December chaos.
You can pre-save both singles now! They’ll be waiting for you on your favorite streaming platform when they’re released.
